UN Commission on Status of Women 62 Panel
March 2018
In Spring 2017, The Acorn Project worked with Human Rights Watch, Women's Rights Champions to host a screening of the Uncondemned with filmmaker, Michele Mitchell, and Human Rights Watch Senior Council, Sara Darehshori. The film follows the story of a mismatched group of young lawyers who came together in 1997 to prosecute, for the first time in history, rape as an international crime of war. It celebrates the three courageous women who braved witness assassinations in order to testify in this landmark decision.
